These images show the completed Mustang Library Sound Wall in early August 2025. This wall separates the early literacy activity area from the adult library space. This project originated in response to community feedback collected in 2022 regarding the noise levels within the youth area at Mustang Library. The wall encloses the children’s fiction collection and early literacy areas, making the youth area more distinctive and one that supports a quieter atmosphere throughout the rest of the library.
Funding for this project was made possible through a State Grants-in-Aid Construction matching grant award and additional funding was provided through Library Gifts and Memorials. City Council approved the grant award and necessary budget transfers in March 2025. Construction ran from mid-June to end of July 2025. The project was completed August 1, 2025.
