This report describes the history of the Scottsdale Municipal Airport, from its initial purchase as Thunderbird Field II, an airfield to train pilots during World War II, to its time as Thunderbird Academy, a school owned and operated by the Arizona Conference of Seventh Day Adventists, to the acquisition of portions of the airfield by the City of Scottsdale during the 1960s.
